San Diego Aces Response to COVID-19 Situation
From San Diego Aces President Allen Risley:
As a result of the ongoing COVID-19 virus outbreak, the San Diego Aces Disc Golf Club is suspending all club events, including monthly tournaments and weekly doubles leagues. As of 8am on March 16, 2020, all club-sponsored or organized events are cancelled until public health conditions are deemed to be safe. Anyone organizing a disc golf event or meet-up is doing so on their own volition and doing so without the sponsorship, support or cooperation of the club.
Information on the Coronavirus is changing frequently, but at this point the recommendations and reports are becoming more, not less concerning. The President of the United States has issued recommendations that include:
- Staying home if you are sick
- Work from home if possible
- Avoid social gatherings in groups of more than 10 people
- Avoid eating or drinking at bars, restaurants, food courts, etc (use drive through or delivery options)
- Avoid discretionary (unnecessary/social) travel
- WASH YOUR HANDS FREQUENTLY
- And practice other good hygiene methods

This is real. People are getting sick. Nearly all well-respected public health doctors and scientists are recommending that we refrain from public gatherings, in order to slow down the spread of the COVID-19 virus. At this time we are supporting the recommendations of health officials and elected representatives, from local city council members and mayors, through Governors, U.S. Representatives and Senators, all they way up to President Trump: DO YOUR PART TO SLOW THE SPREAD OF THE CORONAVIRUS.
