Help Us Find Sponsors For Brengle Terrace
The Brengle Terrace Disc Golf Course project dodged a significant bullet this week, thanks to the carloads of Aces members who have shown up the past few weeks to help with construction. THANKS to those of you who have been able to help us show the city of Vista that We WANT BRENGLE TERRACE PARK DISC GOLF COURSE!!! We were able to make enough progress to keep the course alive, and we’ll continue to need your help because there’s lots of brush left to be cleared.
But now the project needs another type of help: money.
So far the San Diego Aces have given a significant amount of support to this new course – the former Emerald Isle baskets and teepads (owned by the Aces) and $2,400 in cash to pay for materials. That money has been spent, and about $2,500 more is now needed to pay for more rubber teepads, materials for signs and equipment rental for things like wood chippers and tampers. Installation of the course cannot be completed without these items, and the city of Vista has set more deadlines for these items to be installed. If we don’t hit these new deadlines, the course gets pulled.
It was expected that the remainder of the funds needed to pay for construction would come from sponsorships – disc golfers or local businesses buying tee sign sponsorships or plaques for the kiosk at the first hole. Those sales have been very slow, which is why we need your help. Aces Vice President Randy Wylot has volunteered to coordinate the fundraising effort, but he can’t do it alone. If you would like to be a sponsor of this great new disc golf or know of a business that would like to be a sponsor, please contact Randy by e-mail: email@example.com.
As it stands right now, the Aces Board voted at its July meeting to spend the necessary funds to finish the course. But the money that the board pledged is needed to purchase membership discs and bagtags at the end of the year for 2013. If we don’t find sponsors for Brengle Terrace the club won’t be able to pre-order lots of discs and tags like we have in previous years. So…if you want 2013 membership discs and tags in December or January, help us find sponsors!
Thanks for helping us grow disc golf in San Diego County!
