2011 Aces Election Results

December 30, 2010

The San Diego Aces held their annual election of board members recently, with on-line voting taking place Dec. 12th through 17th, and in-person voting taking place on Dec. 18 & 19.  Along with the board member election there were three by-law amendments included on the ballot for member approval.  Results from the election are as follows:

Amendment  #1 clarified procedures for filling vacant board positions, and was passed by a vote of 68 Yes and 2 No.  Amendment #2 added language describing grounds for removal of a board member, including lack of attendance at board meetings, and passed with a vote of 64 Yes and 6 No.  Amendment #3 modified several passages in the bylaws, establishing an Executive Board made up of the President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary and Membership Director and made these the only elected board positions.  Amendment #3 passed 53 Yes to 13 No votes.

Results for the candidate voting are as follows below, in order of number of votes:

  •  Jeff Nichols – 67
  • Allen Risley – 62
  • Randy Wylot – 54
  • Michelle Chambless – 50
  • Ryan Myer – 48
  • Dan Lichtman – 48
  • Mark Verrochi – 42
  • Aaron Van Matre – 42
  • Donny Olow – 41
  • Christian Cullen – 19
  • Carl Renda (write-in) – 2
  • Ian Funston (write-in) – 1
  • Brian Humble (write-in) – 1

Based on the passage of Amendment #3, the top five vote-getters will hold a meeting to determine the Executive Board positions and then appoint the Course Representatives.  Those interested in being considered for a Course Representative position should contact Jeff Nichols at jeffnichols@cox.net.  The tie for 5th place between Dan Lichtman and Ryan Meyer means that both candidates will be allowed to attend the board selection meeting.  Top vote-getter Jeff Nichols is currently working on setting up that meeting.

Do the appointed course representatives receive a vote on the board? If not it seems silly to even have those positions.

Yes, they do have votes. Even without votes though, it’s important for the club to have a single point of contact person to work with each course’s management.
